Ed Schultz Explains How Union Busting Affects the Entire Middle-Class
The Center for American Progress shared data that proves how unions are supporting, not hurting the middle class. Teapubliklan goal: Break the unions, break the Democratic Party, become a full blown plutocracy, fix unemployment % by removing the minimum wage and bring back sweat-shop jobs here at $3 per hour, 6 days a week with no paid time off, child labor laws weakened(check MO), womens reproductive rights-gone (all red states). Do these union haters understand this CAN happen here?
Liberal Women Senators Speak Out
I am a member of EMILY's List and they sent this video which was recorded yesterday. I wanted to share since I'm proud of the 5 Senators for having the courage to stand tall in this regressive political climate for women. Please listen to Senators Mikulski, Cantwell, Gillibrand, Murray, and Boxer and what they had to say about the GOP's anti-woman agenda. We need more strong women like these, not the one's the other side has in the limelight. Well done, ladies.
Emily's List is a community of progressive Americans dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women to every level of office. EMILY's List members believe that the power of women as candidates, as contributors, as campaign professionals, and as voters can bring about great change in our country. Working together, we can make a difference.

Maddow Encourages Democrats To Read the Polls and Find a Spine
One of the many things that sets Rachel Maddow apart from the rest of the political commentators is the fact that she holds strong, smart opinions, while managing to be nice about it. Rachel began Wednesday's show by listing some polling results, like a surtax on millionaires, ending Bush tax cuts, subsidies for oil companies, and allowing public unions to collectively bargain. She pointed out that, in that recent poll, Americans supported all of them at levels usually reserved for questions like “Are puppies cute?” Guess what? Those are all liberal policy ideas by today's standards! She then wondered why many more Americans identify themselves as conservative, rather than liberal. Rachel, wonder no more. The corporate owned right wing media has effectively made the word liberal a dirty word to be equated with anti-American, hippie, communist, marxist, etc...
That is the only reason to explain why the same people who favor taxing millionaires by 81%, ending Big Oil’s corporate welfare by 74%, ending the Bush tax cuts by 68% and leaving collective bargaining alone at 77% just overwhelmingly voted for people who will never do any of that. In fact, they voted for people who campaigned on never doing any of that, with their big goal to destroy so-called entitlements. Never mind that we paid for those entitlements. Heck she didn't even put up the overwhelming polls about protecting Social Security and Medicare. While Rachel is too kind to say it, here's the truth, Americans are idiots. They're more concerned with the thought of her getting married; or a woman making her own reproductive decisions; or being able to have a weapon arsenal in their basement; or a mosque being built anywhere; or immigration because the Mexicans are getting all those highly sought after, great paying, cabbage picking jobs. People have been voting against their best interest for the better part of 30 years thanks to the right wing's successful divide and conquer strategy. Enjoy Rachel's video, I'm going to go listen to Green Day's American Idiot.

Wisconsin Governer Walker Punked By Liberal Blogger
MoveOn.org provided this amazing video - click here.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker accepted a call believing he was going to be speaking with one of his corporate lords, but instead was pranked by Buffalo blogger Ian Murphy. It's hilarious to listen to. He laid out his whole union busting game plan, including how to lure Democrats back to the state by lying to them. Other tidbits? He's conspiring to withhold Democratic lawmakers' paychecks, threatening state workers with layoffs and how he considered planting fake protesters to cause trouble among the real protesters. He was on the phone for about 20 minutes and was quite full of himself! At the close of the phone call, the fake Koch says, "Well, I tell you what, Scott: Once you crush these bastards, I’ll fly you out to Cali and really show you a good time." In which Walker replies, "All right, that would be outstanding." You can't write this stuff! You know somewhere, the real David Koch was smacking his forehead saying, "You idiot!"
You know what I find funny? This weekend, the teabaggers...er Tea Party showed up as a counter protest to the union members. If they were really about less government intervention in the lives of Americans, wouldn't they be supporting the members fighting for their rights as citizens instead of siding with government? The polls indicate that the majority is not with Scotty. People are for collective bargaining by a margin of 61% to 33%. Way to go Wisconsin!!!
There's also a report from Madison police, that confirmed there have been no arrests and the protestors left the capitol cleaner than when they arrived! Damn union thugs...

Bernie Sanders (I-VT) Tellin' Like It Is...Again!
I have to admit that I was worried that the union protests in Wisconsin would fizzle out, but instead it's spreading to other states like Indiana, Ohio and beyond --- which is awesome! I personally have never been a union member, mostly because the opportunity never arose. Trust me, two of my past companies should have had unions. Not just because of pay, but because of working conditions. It's always been crystal clear to me that the very threat of a union keeps many companies "honest" with their employees. Senator Sanders conveyed what I have always felt, that destroying unions will have a true trickle down affect on ever working person in this country. These right wingers who seem to think union workers make obscene money with free health care and retirement are clueless. It's become very evident over the past two weeks. Stay strong, union workers. You have the support of many non-union workers. The very fate of the middle class is riding on your success.

High School Student Says What Democrats Are Afraid To
A 17 year old high school student named Jacob Fiksel explained to Greta Van Susteren what one of the unintended negative results of eliminating collective bargaining will have on Wisconsin. Even better, I love his ideas on how to solve the budget crisis'! What he said is applicable to all 50 states...way to go kid! Another reason I liked this video is, it gives me some hope that there are some young folks who's heads aren't totally up their behinds or glued to their PS3's. I'm no Greta fan, but she let him speak. Can you imagine what O'Reilly or Hannity would have done to this kid? I'm with Jacob.

The Culture Wars are Alive and Well
Today, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to strip Planned Parenthood of all federal funding for any purpose whatsoever. That means no funding to Planned Parenthood health centers for birth control, lifesaving cancer screenings, HIV testing, and other essential care. Every woman in this country should be outraged at these ongoing attempts by the GOP to put women back to where conservative males think they belong; barefoot, pregnant and property. This seems to have begun with that ridiculous Stupak Amendment in the health care bill, and it's been open season on womens rights ever since. I thought the Republicans were elected to create jobs in November? They've been in power for over two months, but not one job bill has been proposed. However, anti-women bills are coming out on virtually a daily basis. I thought the teabaggers were only worried about fiscal responsibility?! A couple weeks ago, Rachel Maddow had Michael Steele on her show and she pointed out this new class of Republicans seems to have pulled out the culture wars playbook. He scoffed at the very notion as ridiculous. Really Michael, was it? Or were you just using another page out of the right wing distraction book, of just lie and deny?
Looks to me like she nailed it.
